Position Description: The Defense Logistics Agency requires on-site and VRI American Sign Language Interpreter services to accommodate Deaf employees and customers. Interpreting services will be provided in a variety of workplace settings including work group meetings, staff training sessions, wellness program events, conferences and seminar, performance counseling, and other employment situations. CSPC will be hiring one Shift Interpreter who will be responsible for providing on-site Interpreting services Monday through Thursday for eight hours each day with a 30-minute lunch break. The Shift Interpreter will work in the Defense Logistics Agency L & M building in Columbus, OH. CSPC will also be hiring a pool of on-call Interpreters who will provide VRI services during normal business hours and to also fill in for the Shift Interpreter during leave or times of sickness. Service requests for VRI services will be issued no less than three days before the scheduled event.
Compensation: The Shift Interpreter will be paid a salary, which includes PTO in conjunction with 11 federal holidays. The Shift Interpreter will also be eligible for CSPC's 401K program following a 90-day probationary period. On-call Interpreters will be paid on an hourly basis with a minimum of two hours of billable time.
Required Qualifications:
-18 years of age or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
-Capable of passing a criminal background check
-Possess reliable transportation
-A combination of the following certifications, education, and experience:
CAT I (National Certification): Minimum of one year of professional experience combined with NIC, CI, CT, CSC, MCSC, or SC:L certification
CAT II (State Certification): Minimum of three years of professional experience combined with Texas BEI or State Screening Level III, IV, or V
CAT III (No Certification): Minimum of ten years of professional experience combined with a minimum of a two-year degree from an accredited college or university
