Position Description: Job duties include providing in-person ASL Interpretation services for deaf or hard-of-hearing government employees in the Virginia Beach and Norfolk areas on an as-needed basis. Services will primarily be required during the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Interpreters will be notified of upcoming meetings no less than 72 hours before service dates. Interpreters will work in a 1099 Independent Contractor status and will be paid an hourly rate for services performed.

Required Qualifications:

-Over the age of 18 and legally authorized to work in the United States

-Possess reliable transportation to the service location

-Minimum of 3 years' professional ASL Interpreter experience

-RID ASL certification (Please provide copy of certification with application)

-Experience performing ASL interpretation in a government or military setting is preferred
